Condition Guide

Clear condition, before you buy.

Every piece in the Matchday Culture archive is individually reviewed before being listed.

Because most shirts are pre-owned, vintage or archive pieces, condition can vary from one shirt to another.

We use condition grades as a quick reference, but the product photos and condition notes always form part of the description. Any relevant wear or flaws are clearly shown and described.

BNWT — Brand New With Tags

Unworn and still carrying its original retail tags. Minor storage or age-related marks may still be present on older pieces and will be stated if relevant.

MINT

Unworn or virtually unworn condition, without original retail tags. No significant visible wear.

EXCELLENT

Very well preserved, with little or only minor signs of previous wear. Small age-related details may be present but do not significantly affect the overall appearance.

VERY GOOD

Clearly pre-owned but well preserved. May show light wear such as small pulls, minor marks, slight fading or light sponsor/print ageing. Relevant details are described and photographed.

GOOD

Visible signs of age or use are present, such as pulls, marks, fading, cracking or other wear. The shirt remains wearable and collectible, and all significant flaws are clearly shown or described.

A note on vintage shirts

Age is not automatically a flaw.

Older football shirts may show natural signs of time, wear and previous use. These details can be part of the character of the piece, but they should never be a surprise.

Always review the photos and condition notes on the individual product page before ordering.
