Every shirt in the archive is different. Some are vintage, some are recent, some are pre-owned, some are unworn. Here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often.
Are all shirts original?
Yes. Matchday Culture only sells original football shirts.
Every piece is reviewed before being listed. We check labels, materials, badges, sponsor applications, construction, product details when available, and overall consistency with the shirt’s era, brand and model.
If there is doubt, the shirt does not enter the archive.
Are the shirts new or used?
Most pieces in the archive are pre-owned. Some are vintage, some are recent, and some may be unworn or new with tags.
The condition of each piece is clearly stated on the product page.
Are flaws shown before purchase?
Yes. Visible wear, marks, pulls, cracking, fading or defects are described and photographed whenever relevant.
Archive pieces often carry signs of time and previous use. We believe those details should be clear before you buy.
What does “archive piece” mean?
An archive piece is a shirt selected for its story, character, visual presence or place in football culture.
It does not always mean rare or old. Some recent shirts also carry strong design, context or cultural relevance.
How do I know if a shirt will fit me?
The best way is to compare the measurements on the product page with a shirt you already own and like.
Do not rely only on the label size. A vintage L may not fit like a modern L, and sizing can vary between brands, eras and models.
What does pit to pit mean?
Pit to pit is measured flat across the chest, from one armpit seam to the other.
It is usually the most important measurement for understanding the width and fit of a shirt.
What does length mean?
Length is measured from the highest point of the shoulder, near the collar, down to the bottom hem.
It helps you understand how long the shirt will sit on the body.
Are measurements exact?
Measurements are taken by hand, so a small variation of around 1 cm may occur.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship to selected destinations within the European Union.
All orders are shipped from Portugal with tracking.
Shipping availability may vary depending on the destination.
Some territories or regions may not be available at checkout due to carrier or logistical restrictions.
Do you ship to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Brazil or the United States?
No. At this stage, Matchday Culture only ships to selected destinations within the European Union.
We do not currently ship to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Brazil, the United States, Malta or Cyprus.
How long does shipping take?
Estimated delivery times vary depending on the destination and carrier.

Selected European Union destinations: delivery times vary by country and are shown at checkout.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs vary depending on the destination and are calculated at checkout before payment.
Free tracked shipping is available on orders of €150 or more for eligible shipping destinations.
For the most accurate shipping cost, please proceed to checkout after adding your item to the cart.
When will my order be sent?
Orders are usually prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days after payment confirmation.
During launches, campaigns or high-volume periods, processing times may be slightly longer.
Can I return an order?
Yes. For online purchases in the EU, consumers generally have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

What condition must the item be returned in?
Returned items must be sent back in the same condition in which they were received.
They must not be worn beyond trying them on, washed, altered, damaged or used after delivery.
Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the item is incorrect, faulty or not as described.
We recommend using tracked shipping for returns.
When will I receive my refund?
Once the returned item has been received and checked, the refund will be processed using the original payment method.
EU guidance states that refunds must be made within 14 days of cancellation, although the seller may wait until the goods are received back or until proof of return is provided.
Can I exchange a shirt for another size?
Usually, no.
Most pieces in the archive are one-off items, so we normally do not have the same shirt in another size or condition.
Will sold shirts come back?
Usually, no.
Most shirts are single pieces. Once a shirt leaves the archive, we may not find the same piece again in the same size, condition or version.
Can I reserve a shirt?
At this stage, shirts are not reserved through messages or DMs.
A piece is only secured once checkout is completed.
Can I ask you to find a specific shirt?
You can contact us and tell us what you are looking for.
We cannot guarantee sourcing, but we may keep your request in mind when reviewing future pieces for the archive.
Can I sell a shirt to Matchday Culture?
You can contact us if you have original football shirts that may fit the archive.
Please send clear photos of the front, back, labels, badges, sponsor, condition and any visible flaws.
Do you buy every shirt offered?
No.
Every piece is reviewed according to authenticity, condition, size, visual character, demand and fit with the archive.
We only buy pieces that make sense for Matchday Culture.
What kind of shirts are you looking for?
Original football shirts with character, strong design, good condition, interesting eras, clubs, national teams or cultural relevance.
We are especially interested in pieces with clear identity, good sizes and strong visual presence.
